Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) will have a big celebration in late January. They will host the race 'Indonesia Kart Prix 2012' which was followed racers from 14 countries.
Indonesia Kart Prix 2012 will be held at 27-29 January 2012. Sentul Circuit in Bogor, West Java, was chosen as the venue for this event.
A number of renowned national and international racers will take part in this event. They include Rio Haryanto, Sean Gelael, Alexandra Asmasoebrata, Zahir Ali, Antonio Giovinazzi (Italy), Sami Luka (Belgium), and Esteban Ocon (France).
"About 95 percent of drivers in Formula 1 comes from karts, such as (Lewis) Hamilton, (Sebastian) Vettel. Rio Haryanto also began his career from karting," said Chairman of the IMI, Nanan Soekarna, quoted from page detikSports, Wednesday (01 / 11/2012).
Indonesia Kart Prix 2012 race KF2 class, Rotax Junior, Mini Skirt, and Veterans (Legend). In the future event is expected to be held regularly every year.
